AYDIN OLSON-KENNEDY, LCSW
Aydin joined the Los Angeles Gender Center in 2015 as an intern, and in 2016, accepted the position of volunteer Executive Director. He saw this as an opportunity to continue his mission of creating accessible, affirming, long-term mental health care for the transgender and non-binary communities. In January 2019, under the leadership of Aydin, LAGC moved into its new home in Studio City and launched the Associate Training Program. Therapy services in that program are provided based on income, and no one is turned away for inability to pay. It was essential to Aydin that the therapists working in the Associate Training Program are themselves, members of the trans and non-binary community. Thus, centering the voices of the trans and non-binary communities to help guide and shape the future of the Los Angeles Gender Center.
Aydin also maintains a full-time private practice in Pasadena and Studio City.

DR. THEODORE BURNES
Director of Continuing Education
LAGC uses a competency-based model to design, implement, and evaluate learning that meets licensed professionals where they are in their own development. Specifically, our organization offers and sponsors continuing education training is conducted using a theoretical framework that emphasizes therapist-as-self, multicultural humility, gender equality and gender revolution, political advocacy, and community well-being. Trainings and workshops are designed to help licensed therapists learn about working with gender diverse communities; however, our organization also sponsors a wide range of other trainings in partnerships with other trainers and organizations.
