These groups are offered at no cost and are located at a variety of locations.  We also provide process, therapy groups for non-binary adults, and transfeminine adults. There is a fee for therapy groups with sliding scale fee options available. For more information about any of our peer support groups or process, therapy groups, please click the link below.

Raising a child who does not fit neatly within the male and female gender binary can bring many questions and uncertainties. It is a journey where support can lessen challenges while providing clarity and insight. LAGC's Child, Adolescent, and Family Services program (CAFS) works with children between the ages of 2 and 16 and their families. We believe a collaborative approach is critical to your child or adolescent's well-being. Therapists working in the CAFS program have specialized training and experience working with children and adolescents in this age group, as well as with their parents and family. In addition to therapy, and when appropriate, we offer referrals to medical providers at the Center for Transyouth Health and Development at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Our parent support group, Transforming Family, is a specialized support group specifically for parents of gender non-conforming and transgender children. We provide training, education, and legal advocacy for public and private schools, camps, churches, synagogues, and other places that children, adolescents, and parents may need support. For more information, or to schedule an appointment with one of our CAFS therapists, please contact us by clicking the link below.

When LAGC is unable to provide therapy services in Studio City due to location, scheduling, client preference, or any other reason, we refer to a pre-screened group of LAGC certified therapists who work in private practice throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Our community partners provide our Child, Adolescent, and Family Services. To get more information or to schedule an appointment, please click the link below.

We believe that the practice of requiring referral letters for gender-related procedures is a discriminatory practice that supports the continued disenfranchisement of trans and gender non-conforming community members. We practice an Informed Consent Model and believe there is no one gender journey or narrative and each person’s experience is valid. Letters will follow the requirements of the insurance company, WPATH Standards of Care, and include the minimum amount of personal information necessary for approval. There is no fee for this service. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please click the link below.

The Los Angeles Gender Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for Psychologists. Being an APA sponsor also allows LAGC to provide CE credits to Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as Clinical Social Workers in the state of California. We have worked with the transgender and non-binary communities for over twenty-five years, and throughout this time, have provided education and training for professionals at schools, universities, medical schools, workplace settings, healthcare centers, and other institutions. We now offer continuing education credit with these trainings and are happy to partner with other trainers or organizations. For more information, please contact Caroline Carter.
